Super Mario World opened its doors in Osaka Japan on March 18, 2021, after seeing a few delays brought on by the pandemic. Now, it seems that the park will be getting quite an overhaul with new additions.

In 2024 Super Nintendo World will be getting a park upgrade in the form of Donkey Kong. Per a press release earlier today, this new portion of the park will allow its guests to explore a vast jungle, allowing them to have interactive experiences. Other attractions will be a roller coaster, exclusive merchandise, and themed food. This expansion is going to increase the parks size by approximately 70%, so this is a massive upgrade to the already large park.

Also, Shigeru Miyamoto is quite excited as well, saying the following.

I am very happy to be able to make the world of Donkey Kong a reality following the world of Mario. I am looking forward to creating a thrilling Donkey Kong experience with the amazing team at Universal. It will take some time until it is completed, but it will be a unique area for not only people who are familiar with Donkey Kong games, but for all guests.
