Welcome to another edition of the MLB Power Rankings; this week the chase is on for October, and the division races are heating up! Last week, I had hope for the New York Yankees, and this week the Yankees rewarded me by scoring as often as the New York Jets score. Jokes aside, this year has been one of the most memorable MLB seasons that I can remember as of late; let’s get to ranking!

1. San Francisco Giants

Is there a more entertaining division than the NL West (I mean entertaining in a competitive way, not in a garbage truck on fire way like the NL East)? Last week, the Dodgers took the lead, but the Giants fought back and now have a 3 game lead in the West. The Giants also have the advantage as they spend the weekend in Chicago facing the Cubs (yes, I cried when the Cubs showed the Kris Bryant tribute Friday at Wrigley).

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers had SO much momentum going into this week, and then they lost the weekend series against the Giants and split a series with the Cardinals. The Dodgers may or may not win the division, but they are still deadly when it comes to October.

3. Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays are just flat-out awesome; the Rays are the most dangerous team in the AL going into the final two weeks of the season.

4. Milwaukee Brewers

If there is a dark horse in the NL, it’s the Brewers; this team is scary good defensively, and let’s face it, Miller Park can be a pitcher’s best friend. I would love to see a little bit more production out of the bats in the lineup, but otherwise, I really like what the Brewers are doing as a unit.

5. Houston Astros

On paper, I am not in love with the Astros, but you can’t dispute what they can do in October. The Astros are finally getting their starting pitcher to the place where I like them heading forward.

6. Chicago White Sox
7. Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox took charge of the Wild Card this week as they dominated! I think if Alex Cora can continue to manage his pitching in a way that actually makes sense, then the Red Sox can become a great team in October.

8. New York Yankees

The Yankees had a combination of terrible bullpen management and a lineup full of big bats that aren’t producing at the moment. The Yankees can’t afford to be this cold going into the final 2 weeks of the season; the Yankees need a spark to light a fire into the post season.

9. Toronto Blue Jays

Vlad Jr. keeps hitting bombs, and this lineup is really fun to watch. Next year, you can’t help but love the Blue Jays’ chances to be a threat and potentially win the division.

10. Seattle Mariners

I really love the Mariners–this is a lineup that is just flat out fun to watch and similar to the Blue Jays. This is a team to watch out for next year.

11. Oakland Athletics
12. Atlanta Braves

Are the Braves playing good baseball? No. Are the Braves a threat to anyone in the post season? No. Do the Braves lead the worst division in baseball? Somehow, yes.

13. San Diego Padres

I don’t know if there is a fan base I feel worse for right now than the San Diego Padres fans. Coming into this season, there was so much hype behind this team, and you look at this roster, and it just all fell apart with the exception of Fernando Tatis Jr.

14. Cincinnati Reds

Okay, I may have to take back my last statement about the Padre fans; I feel legitimately horrible for Reds fans. The Reds showed so much life and energy all summer, and then within the last few weeks, it’s just fallen apart.

15. St. Louis Cardinals
16. Philadpelphia Phillies

I enjoy chaos. With that in mind, I hope the Phillies take the NL East from the Braves.

17. Cleveland Indians
18. New York Mets
19. Los Angeles Angels

Ohtani will win the MVP, but the gap is closing between him and Salvador Perez.

20. Detroit Tigers
21. Chicago Cubs
22. Colorado Rockies
23. Kansas City Royals

Salvador Perez is making history with his bat; if he ends up taking Ohtani in HR, he will be only the third catcher in MLB history to lead the MLB in both HR and RBI.

24. Minnesota Twins
25. Miami Marlins
26. Washington Nationals
27. Texas Rangers
28. Pittsburgh Pirates
29. Baltimore Orioles

Watch an Orioles game, and you will ask if we are back to not letting fans in the stadium.

30. Arizona Diamondbacks
