Nintendo has announced that their hit puzzle platformer Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will be free for all U.S. Switch Online members from 1/13, 10am PT – 1/20, 11:59pm PT.
The release also states that the game is on a 30% sale until 1/16, which, curiously, is before the free trial period ends.
This is the latest of Nintendo’s game trials, a fairly new initiative that allows Nintendo Online members to try out a game for a limited time. In the past, games such as Arms and The World Ends with You Final Remix have been made available for free in various territories.
Once the trial period ends, gamers will have to purchase the title to continue to play, but may keep their save files
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker first released in 2014 for the Wii U; it made it’s Switch debut in 2018, which included additional content inspired by Super Mario Odyssey.
