Bethesda announced via their official website that the publisher’s launcher for PC games will be shutting down permanently on May 11th. Users will be able to transfer their gaming library as well as their funds over to Steam beginning April 27th.
Bethesda added that many games will also allow for save data to be imported, easing fears that gamers will lose much, if anything, during the process.
Players will still need a Bethesda.net account to access many of the games even after transfer, however, as services such as mods, in-game purchases, and exclusive news and updates are all tied to the account.
The publisher’s MMORPG Fallout 76 is especially affected by this transfer, as the game relies more heavily on the Bethesda.net launcher than normal. To show appreciation for players taking the additional time to transfer their data over to Steam, Bethesda will be offering special rewards for players who migrate between April 27th and May 11th. Some of these gifts include 10 rank-ups for the Season 9 Scoreboard.

The publisher added that their other MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online, will be unaffected by the migration.
Furthermore, numerous titles that are not currently available on Steam will arrive on April 27th, including The Elder Scrolls Arena, The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall, Creation Kit for Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition, and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.
