Boss Rush Banter: In What Video Game Setting Would You Want to Spend a Summer Vacation?

Summer is rapidly approaching! For many of us, summer is a time of relaxation. Even if we don’t have an official break from work or school, we still make plans, take trips, and enjoy the warm weather. And while the summer of 2022 is certain to bring us plenty of new games, from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to Mario Strikers: Battle League to Digimon Survive, not to mention time for each of us to get caught up on our backlogs, we will also have plenty of time to relax and soak up the summer sun. And while we could do all of this from our couch, what video game setting would you want to spend your summer vacation in?

My first thought went to my island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A warm island with great weather, fun events, and where everyone likes me? Sign me up! A summer here would surely to be relaxing and free of stress. When I first started playing, I felt right at home with my fellow villagers. Certainly, our islands would be a GREAT place to stay for summer.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been on a huge Pokémon kick lately, but the Hoenn region from Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald seems to have amazing weather and would be incredibly fun to explore. The region includes a volcano, desert ruins, a lush forest, and plenty of beachfronts. If you wanted to get out and get moving, a place like Hoenn would seem like a perfect fit.

If you’re someone who loves competition, getting in shape, and having fun, then Spocco Square from Nintendo Switch Sports would be a fantastic place to visit. With opportunities to go bowling, play volleyball, or compete against your foes in chambara, visitors would never get bored. Even being able to spectate the events from the sidelines would be fun, especially for someone like me who is not very good at sports.

Where would you want to spend your summer vacation? And what would you spend your time doing? Let us know in a comment below, or tell us on the Boss Rush Discord!
