In a recent PlayStation Blog information post, the CEO of Striking Distance Studios, Glen Schofield (who also happens to be the original creator of Dead Space), shared details on The Callisto Protocol and revealed that the game will have content exclusive to PlayStation when it launches this year on December 2nd, 2022.
Called the “Contraband Pack”, this exclusive DLC will give players who pre-order the game something to give a fighting chance against the unspeakable horrors that await you in Black Iron Prison according to Schofield. While there weren’t any specifics given in Schofield’s announcement of the DLC, PlayStation gamers that played the original Dead Space when it launched on PS3 might remember that there was console-specific DLC for that game which gave players weapons and enhancements to take some of the sting out of the nightmarish situation around them. Hopefully, this will be the same for The Callisto Protocol.
The Callisto Protocol was featured during last week’s State of Play showing off some of the gameplay to be featured in the coming survival horror title. To get more information on what to expect in this hotly-anticipated sci-fi game, head over to PlayStation Blog and read the details that Schofield provided.
The Callisto Protocol will be releasing on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series consoles, and Xbox 1 this holiday season.
Are you planning on picking up The Callisto Protocol? Will you pre-order the game ahead of launch for the exclusive bonus? What did you think of the gameplay reveal of The Callisto Protocol from last week’s State of Play?
