Resident Evil 4 Remake Coming March 24, 2023

1–2 minutes

During Thursday’s State of Play, Capcom has announced that the long awaited remake of classic survival horror Resident Evil 4 will be coming next year on March 24.

The original 2005 title sees protagonist Leon S. Kennedy venturing to Europe to rescue the President’s daughter, Ashley, from crazed cultists.

The remake appears to be heavily influenced on recent remakes from the company, including Resident Evil 2 and 3. From what little was shown, the layout of the game seems to remain largely faithful to the original, which should assuage any concerns from longtime fans.

Leon seems to be largely uncharged from his classic appearance, but Ashley’s model appears to be heavily updated.

Capcom states that the footage in the trailer is running on PS5 hardware, and is a mix of cinematic and gameplay sequences.

Capcom also confirmed that PlayStation VR 2 content will be included in the title.

There is currently no news on what other platforms the game will be available on, if any.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the original Resident Evil 4? How do you feel about Capcom’s recent remakes in the franchise? Does this new footage make or you more or less excited about the release? Let us know in the comments below and join our official Discord for more video game discussions!
