After what many deemed a “mini-E3” week, gamers have woken from their slow summer gaming season and calculated their budget in order to afford the scores of titles announced for the remainder of 2022. Even after some sluggers that already came our way such as Elden Ring, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Sifu, and Stray, the industry is preparing their second course.
We have heavy hitters dropping int the last quarter, ranging from sci-fi horror to farming sims (oh, so many farming sims at the last Nintendo Direct!). This is just a small sampling:

- Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope–10/20/22
- Gotham Knights–10/21/22
- Bayonetta 3–10/28/22
- Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion–10/28/22

- Sonic Frontiers–11/8/22
- God of War: Ragnarok–11/9/22
- Pokemon Scarlet/Violet–11/18/22
- Warhammer 40,000: Darktide–11/30/22
- The Callisto Protocol–12/2/22
Fall is truly a magical time, beyond the Pumpkin Spice Lattes and apple picking, of course. There are so many games I’m looking forward to since my summer primarily consisted of spending time away from the screen–and when I did play video games, I tried to catch up on my backlog.
I already pre-ordered Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, and I intend on purchasing God of War: Ragnarok and adding the Winter’s Expansion so I can play as Ethan in third-person. I even pre-ordered the latest PlayStation Gray Camo controller and plates to enjoy some of those games with. My biggest challenge is not to go overboard because that’s how I refill that backlog I’ve desperately tried to chip away at. This is why I personally was okay with a sizable amount of games that got delayed. That is also a lengthy list, including some I’m personally looking forward to: Hogwart’s Legacy, Metal Slug Tactics, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Sea of Stars, Redfall, and Starfield.
Trust me, delays are a pet peeve of mine and occur frequently in this industry; however, can you imagine if all of those titles released this year too?
