NCSoft, a South Korean developer and publisher, is going to bring an open-world third person MMO shooter in 2024. The game titled LLL sets the game in an alternate history timeline steeped in a science fiction. The game will be coming to PC and consoles.
LLL takes place in post-apocalyptic Seoul with a 30 square kilometer in game open world. Within the Byzantine Empire somehow a 10th century and 23rd century merge and exist within the same timeline. The project lead, Jaehyun Bae, says that the games story is trying to answer two questions.
- “If technology and were to advance without limitations, would what it means to be human also change?”
- “What if multiple groups at starkly different levels of technological advancement were to encounter each other?”
These two questions create a wide scope of what an outcome such as this would look like. Such interesting and unlimited applications to various groups could emerge and be molded by environment and the technology they can create from the resources they have. Surely nothing good can come of such unlimited foundations.
Do you think the game looks good? What do you think about the concept? Would you play this sort of game? Let us know your thoughts.
