As E3 Lineup Continues to Take Shape, Sony Remains Absent

More game companies have committed to this year’s E3 Expo. The lineup includes some big names and holds some promise for gamers after a year of less than ideal gaming news due to the delays from Covid-19.

Nintendo fans have high hopes for what the gaming giant will bring to E3, with the anniversaries of The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mother, and more occurring this year. While fans are probably hoping for a Zelda Direct prior to E3 (similar in content to the Mario 35 event), most expect some kind of teaser or new trailer for Breath of the Wild 2 at the big show.

After releasing its next-gen consoles, Xbox has had a noticeable lack of exclusive titles, drawing much criticism from gamers and media. The acquisition of Bethesda has definitely eased that burden though, and it will be interesting to find out what new and exclusive content is announced at E3.

Sony and EA are noticeably absent from this year’s lineup, though it’s unclear if they will do something on their own.
