A fresh batch of downloadable content is set for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Nintendo made the announcement regarding the DLC, which is set to release on Feb. 15, as part of its Feb. 8 Nintendo Direct. The DLC features the introduction of Masha the Lapidarist along with the addition of challenge battles with rogue-like elements
This will be the third wave of DLC for the action role-playing game. Nintendo also showcased a tease for the fourth wave, which it stated is set for later this year.
The Direct revealed some of Masha’s abilities including crafting for new, unique items. The challenge battles also teased numerous rewards for increasingly difficult levels.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 originally released for the Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022. The Expansion Pass released alongside the game, setting up four waves of DLC.
The first wave of DLC arrived at launch and included a collection of objects such as consumable items, accessories, and color variations for existing outfits.
The second wave launched on Oct. 13, 2022 and contained a Challenge Battle mode against the harder enemies for a host of prizes and swimsuit outfits. It also featured the ability to recruit hero character Ino along with accompanying quests.
The fourth wave is slated for Dec. 31, but doesn’t have much detail outside of a “new original story scenario. The expansion pass costs $30 for all four waves.
