Nostalgix's First Expansion - Harmonic Surge

Nostalgix released its first expansion, Harmonic Surge. The meta-plot takes a turn, as mysterious new threats enter the multiverse.

When the portals around Nosteram begin emitting a deep hum, a team is sent into them to investigate. Weeks go by with no word from Ion Team when suddenly an explosive resonance ripples outward from one of the portals. Strange armored creatures begin to emerge, followed by a mysterious being. A piercing melody rings from the portal as if the record of time itself has been reversed.

Equally inspired by music and electricity, this expansion introduces a number of new mechanics to the game like Armor, Crescendo (bonus attack damage on Fighters who have previously attacked), Shocking (which reduces a Fighter’s damage for the next turn), and Last Dance (a damage and draw bonus on a fighter at 1 Health).

This set also introduces mechanics that amp up or disrupt combos. These include permanent mana points, taking damage on bonus draws, and zapping a Hero for creating fighter tokens.

The set seems to strongly encourage new, interesting combos (the music inspiration) while also giving players the chance to stop them (the electric shock).
