Summer Game Fest Unveils Twisted Metal Frist Look

During the Summer Game Fest livestream presentation, a new Twisted Metal trailer was revealed, providing fans with a live-action glimpse at the game series’ famous character Sweet Tooth.

The ten-episode series will premiere on Peacock on July 27 and is described as a ‘high-octane action-comedy.’

In the opening scene, John Doe, played by Anthony Mackie, is approached at a casino by Sweet Tooth, played physically by Samoa Joe and vocally by Will Arnett. Inexplicably, the trailer features the duo singing Cysqo’s “Thong Song” together after a brawl.

Twisted Metal was created by Deadpool’s Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick as a fresh spin on the PlayStation franchise, with Cobra Kai alum Michael Jonathan Smith on authoring and showrunning duties.

Twisted Metal also has a strong supporting cast that includes Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell, and Thomas Hayden Church. As well as Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr.

According to the official synopsis, “a motor-mouthed outsider is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”

Surprisingly I really want this show to succeed even though the first look didn’t give us too much. Once the show is released, I’m hoping it will change my mind.
