If you have any interest in building your own computer or customizing what you already have, Mechanical Keyboards has likely come up in conversation. Even if you are new, they’re at the top of every search engine. However, their key word search is a mess.
The last thing any hobbyist wants is to be repeatedly referred to a company to find the niche items they need only to discover that their website is difficult to navigate and doesn’t include key features in their search filters. Assuming they actually have stock.

At first glance, you might consider this a good number of filters, but case material isn’t include. Whether or not the keyboard allows for modifications isn’t included either despite the fact that it is included under item descriptions and should be simple to add to the listed filters. If you are lucky enough to know what you want going in, good luck on them having the stock.
Keychron might be an alternative, but their search feature has no filters. If you type in a prompt and click to search, good luck with it loading. You might as well build your own website in the time it takes to load, if it loads at all.
Another alternative that gets pushed is Ducky. Depending on your web browser, you’ll have a difference experience with Firefox seeming to perform the best. Their search has filters, but they’re even more limited than Mechanical Keyboards.

If you’re just getting into mechanical keyboards and try to use the beginner guide available on Mechanical Keyboards, you better be ready to look up terms or have an idea what “Tenkeyless” and not mistake it for “compact.” There’s about a 20% difference, and instead of the latter term, they use 60% and 65% in their search filter, so no way that would lead to confusion.
For websites and companies meant to assist people in optimizing and customizing their computer experience, all three fall short, and the simplest solution is to add filters that they already have the information for! For the rest, troubleshooting load times would go a long way.
