New Studio Ghibli Official Trailer The Boy and the Heron Coming in December

Studio Ghibli released an official trailer for an upcoming animated film from the legendary film director Hayao Miyazaki who is behind other Studio Ghibli movies such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke. The Boy and the Heron comes to theaters and IMAX on December 8th, 2023.

The movie, based in 1943 during the pacific war, follows a 12-year old named Mahito, who is dealing with the loss of his mother and the adjustment of his father marrying his mothers younger sister who is now pregnant. Moving out to the countryside Mahito finds a heron that has been roaming around the property and he soon pursues it into the woods, which sets him on a journey he wasn’t prepared for and won’t soon forget.
