What’s (the) Gnorp Apologue?
A roguelike clicker game from Myco (Myco), where you help those greedy little gnorps get rich, rich, rich by clicking a rock. When you click the rock, it issues shards. Once the shards are banked, you’re on your way to making money. But you have to spend money to make money…
The pixel art is charming. The characters are cute. But what sets (the) Gnorp Apologue apart?
The strategic depth. Each run could run into infinity, but it’s wise to stop, take stock, and let each run work toward a particular goal. Once you have the gnorp economy pointed in a particular direction (for example, heavy investment in the mountaineer gnorps who literally move mountains), changing course entirely is impossible and adding a new direction is difficult and slow. Each run, you keep and gain skill points, which give you more options.
But it’s more than that. Within a single run, you have to decide how to allocate resources, what path to set, and what combination of gnorps, skills, and bonuses will take you toward you goal. (the) Gnorp Apologue is a clicker that requires thought, and that is so much more fun than idly watching a number creep higher.
