It’s the first day of PAX East 2024 and at the Games For Poland booth, Anshar Publishing is showcasing their latest game, Coridden.

Due to release later this year, Coridden features a group of four siblings who are gifted gauntlets that give them the power and ability to shapeshift into the various monsters that roam across their planet.

Unfortunatley, it is quickly revealed that these gauntlets are malfunctioning and they are in urgent need of repair.

This ARPG draws influences for classic and popular games of the franchise with two things that make it stand out from the pack.

1. Co-Op Mode

Jakob Kwinta, head of PR & Marketing for Anshar Publishing shared that this game focuses on its co-op modes. Players may play with up to three of their friends.

As a group of four, you play as the siblings. While this game is about fighting monsters (as monsters), it’s also about the bonds between siblings.

From working together to giving each other a lift, there are plenty of ways players can work together to achieve their goals in Coridden.

2. Change your form, change your abilities

There are plenty of ways to combat the monsters you’ll encounter while playing Coridden.

As a human, you’ve got close and ranged attacks. Even in the demo available at PAX, players were able to acquire a couple of weapons.

However one thing that makes Coridden unique is that all four playable characters can shape shift into various monsters found across the map.

As that monster, you gain their abilities and can use those to defeat other monsters. From limited game play, it’s notable that different monsters have to be approached different ways.

Reminiscent of Horizon Zero Dawn, Coridden is set in a post-apocalyptic world. An unknown event happened centuries earlier driving the human race out of their Capitol city. Since then, they’ve lived with limited access to the technology their ancestors took for granted.

However, there is hints early on that you may need to seek out a way to enter that city, something that hasn’t been done in centuries.
