Boss Rush Banter: Which Game Mode is your Go-To in MLB The Show 24?

There’s something great about having options isn’t there? Whether it’s mixing up your coffee order at Dunkin’ or trying a new series on Netflix, it’s great knowing you have a choice. After all, variety is the spice of life, right?

It’s the same when it comes to video games. Specifically, I’m referring to the modes. They offer the users unique options that are essentially games inside the games and help keep the video game fresh and interesting.

For MLB The Show 24, San Diego Studios was gracious enough to include five unique game modes, (Diamond Dynasty, Franchise, Road to The Show, Storylines, and March to October) all certifiable hits. But with each one being a great and fun experience, my question today is which game mode is your go-to?

I think it’s pretty tough to decide, honestly. Each offers such awesome stuff that it feels wrong to rank one ahead of the other. But since this is a discussion piece, I must wade into these wrong feelings and give my opinions.

I love Franchise Mode. The ability to run my favorite teams and create a reign of glory wins me over every time. Add in that they have updated minor league rosters where you can grow out your farm system with real up-and-comers and it really just puts it over the top.

One I think isn’t getting the love it deserves though is Storylines. The mode is about getting to relive some of the greatest moments in baseball history while also having cut scenes that explain how significant it was at that time. I mean, come on, how cool is that? Baseball is what it is because of its history. To be able to hear from people who were there how crazy it actually was… it gives it a whole new meaning. Plus, the game rewards you with special cards that you can use in Diamond Dynasty for completing the challenges.

But like a parent would say to their children, I truly do love them all equally. I’ve had a lot of fun in this year’s rendition and think that each one deserves a shot as being the go-to game mode.

But what do you think? Is there one go-to mode to rule them all, or is each great in its own way? Share your reactions in the comments below or join in the conversation on Boss Rush Network’s Discord and Facebook.
