Lenric’s Realm, a hobby design YouTuber, recreated Elden Ring‘s opening area Limgrave, as tabletop terrain. Terrain can be used in many tabletop games as a kind of roving, interchangeable gameboard: not only is it an attractive, 3D surface, the terrain changes how units interact via line-of-sight, cover, and high ground.
Beginning with blocks of foam, Lenric’s Realm makes the tiles interchangeable with magnets, and begins the magic trick of converting a number of home improvement and hobby supplies into a fully playable gameworld.
The trees are a combination of real bushes, paint, paper, and more and showcase the creativity that goes into creating your own materials for a tabletop game.
