Pioneers of Pagonia, medieval-fantasy city builder from award-winning developer studio Envision Entertainment, will launch their Magic Update in October 2024.
This is the fourth extensive content update that Pioneers of Pagonia has released in 2024.
Players can expect new, playful challenges in the medieval fantasy world of Pagonia with the “Cursed”, numerous magical combat units, expanded production chains and new buildings such as the gem mine and the innovative treasure hunter.
The magic update will enter open beta on Steam at the end of October, and visitors to PAX West 2024 can play it in advance at the Envision Entertainment booth in the Arch Expo Hall.
Envision Entertainment shared that the Magic Update improves the first steps newcomers make in Pagonia. The update will include a series of introductory video sequences that inform players on important game mechanics.
Some of these introductory videoclips will already be available in September as part of a Quality-of-Life update.
The update will also introduce new “Cursed” enemies who will corrupt and abuse nature for their own purposes. Players will need to build units with knowledge of magic to remove the curse.
In addition there will be new resources, building types, units, and production chains. One such unit is the treasure hunter who can discover hidden riches, secret arsenals and lost artifacts. There will also be secret treasure maps which must be round or acquired by bartering.
The male treasure hunter is voiced by the German strategy expert Maurice Weber, while American streamer and presenter Ovilee May lends her voice to the female treasure hunter.
Further details on all contents of the Magic Update will be announced after the end of the open beta.
Pioneers of Pagonia is available in Early Access on Steam for 29.99 USD / 29.99 EUR.
