In a blink-and-you’ll-miss it reveal during August 27’s Nintendo Partner Direct, Nintendo showed off Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st, a remake of the first entry in The Legend of Heroes series.

While it received only a brief appearance in the Nintendo of America and UK Directs, the Japanese Nintendo Partner Direct showed off more of the remake.

The original Trails in the Sky has received multiple HD upgrades and a remaster for the PlayStation Vita, however, the western releases of the title have seen very few of these improvements.

In the extended preview, it looks like Trails in the Sky 1st is seeing its tactical turn-based combat system and graphics updated to be on par with more recent releases in the series.

The Legend of Heroes series, which by now has more than a dozen installments, traditionally sees its North America and Europe versions released years after their initial Japanese launch.

During the Nintendo Partner Direct, however, it seems as though the series might finally be reducing that gap, as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st is slated to be released in 2025 worldwide on the Nintendo Switch.
