The Seismic Talus is the first major boss you will encounter in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. You will find him at the end of the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon in the first rift that you must repair.

The Seismic Talus relies on the primary Zelda boss principle: target the glowing orb and destroy it three times. But let’s look a little more closely:
1. Destroy the Purple Orb #1
The first time you see the glowing purple orb, it will be located at the base of the Seismic Talus (his torso). There are several ways to approach destroying the orb: summon enemy Echoes or use Swordfighter Mode.
Swordfighter mode makes the boss battle go much quickly, unless your gauge runs out. The risk you run is getting too close to the boss, who may hit you. The Seismic Talus’s primary attacks are to slam both hands on the ground and to punch in your direction. He winds up early, so it is an easy enough tell to signal that it’s time to skeedaddle.

The other risk is running the Swordfighter Mode gauge out prematurely, for as soon as you get enough hits in, the Seismic Talus will collapse. That is where you need to get the most hits in. If you ever utilize the Swordfighter Mode at all, this would be the time.
If you use an enemy Echo, several options are at your disposal such as several Keese, Spear Moblin, and the Rope. While the Darknut is strong, it may be too slow in this battle.

2. Destroy the Purple Orb #2
This time, the orb is located on the Seismic Talus’ arm. Because it is higher up, Keese may be a more viable option; however, the process is the same. Avoid his attacks, and strike!

3. Destroy the Purple Orb #3
In the final stage, the Seismic Talus will hide the orb atop his head. When exposed, launch any ranged Echoes you may have (again, like the Keese). You may also run up and strike in Swordfighter Mode after he slams his hands on the ground, and his head is lower to the ground.

Once you destroy the three purple orb locations, the Seismic Talus is eliminated, and you free Tri’s friends! Congratulations! After this boss battle, you receive a Heart Container, five Unusual Crystals (for upgrading Swordfighter Mode/sword), and another “triangle” on Tri–which means you can use more Echoes at one time.
