Colorgrave announced a new game, Claire a la Mode, an arcade-inspired platforming adventure with couch co-op. The development team previously released the Prodigal and Veritus, games inspired by life sims and Game Boy Color installments of The Legend of Zelda, and Curse Crackers: For Whom the Belle Toils, inspired by handheld platformers ranging from Kirby to Shantae.
Claire a la Mode features Claire, the baker responsible for creating (and selling) power-ups, from Curse Crackers. She is out to bake a dessert masterpiece and rise through a high-stakes bake-off full of cheaters. “Fend off their decadent lackeys and against all odds, come out on top in a worldwide baking frenzy! Defeat the Queen Bee and her lackeys to stop her from buying out the rest of the city!”
One of Colorgrave’s signature elements is a wide variety of secrets which encourage the player to dive back in and experience the story from a new angle, or with different abilities. Claire a la Mode features 7+ unique playable characters “with their own strengths and weaknesses that change how you approach evil level” and feature their own stories.
