After closing the massive rifts in the Gerudo and Jabul Waters areas, you are already called back to Hyrule Castle, where a familiar, yet usually end-stage boss awaits. Ganon? Is that really you?
Author’s Note: Story spoilers are avoided in this walkthrough.
- Recommended Echoes/Items to bring to the fight: Smoothies for healing and energy restoration, strong and/or quick enemy Echoes like Wolfos, Peahat, or Darknut Lv. 2.
Phase One

- Ganon’s attacks are similar to when you first fought him as Link before the game truly kicked off.
- He will wind up and lunge with his spear. Ganon will also swirl it around to provide a hazardous shield.
- Keep moving and wait until he lunges with that spear attack. He pauses momentarily before he teleports. This is a key moment to slash as much as you can in Swordfighter form.

Phase Two
- In phase two, Ganon adds a few new move sets: he will send fiery Keese after you, hurl the spear around the arena, and he will lob a fireball at you for Deadman’s Volley.
- Keep in mind for those that are new to the Zelda staple, Deadman’s Volley (think of it like a not-so-friendly version of tennis). Each time you strike the fireball, Ganon will hit it back at a faster speed. Be prepared to react more quickly each time until Ganon succumbs to it.
- Note that when he shoots the Firey Keese, they do leave hearts and energy for Swordfighter form behind, so you don’t have to worry about running out.

- Continue to look for openings to attack–usually after he thrusts with his weapon or sends it flying. You can utilize Echoes to try and divert his attention, or you could continue hopping in and out of Swordfighter Mode to get quick hits in.

Phase Three
- Yes, there is a third phase, making this the longest boss fight you’ve encountered in Echoes of Wisdom thus far.
- In this phase, Ganon utilizes his entire skillset and moves quickly. It is best to act more defensively, moving around until you are comfortable to strike.
- One method is to wait for the Deadman’s Volley and utilize that to create an opening. Another is to wait until after he lunges or tosses his weapon. Thankfully, there is no one attack or move set you need to rely on to land a hit.
