Say what you will about the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition Console and its price, but its retro design and numbered as a collector’s item (with only 12,300 of these numbered consoles available) makes it a pretty cool purchase if you have the funds and were able to beat out the bots. I recently received an e-mail from PlayStation about other 30th anniversary products for sale, and I got to say, some are…kind of ridiculous, either in price and/or product type.
Sony 30th Anniversary Shadow Box
The product itself is very cool. If you are into posters, shadowboxes, or any form of displayable art, this would be an excellent addition to your home. However, what makes this laughable is the price at $223.99 USD. That is HALF the price of a Digital Edition of the PlayStation 5 console. Listen, the term “limited edition” can only go so far… You are better off finding something similar from Etsy.

Jewelry
Perhaps Sony is reaching out to their female-presenting gamers, but some of the 30th anniversary jewelry has me scratching my head. One of which is a $100 USD ring that just… looks gaudy. I like rings as much as the next person, but I’m not thrilled by the design or price. There is an earring set also available that I feel are a little bit more tasteful and worth its price tag.

…Balls
I understand the PlayStation button symbols are iconic to the brand, but buying plushies of these–in the form of four, round balls–looks a little odd. Not only that, but these four balls cost $50 USD. That’s almost the price of a new video game. There are so many other products on the site that feature these four symbols in a better way.
