The 2024 Bossies, the second annual presentation of the awards, has its nominees for Best Media Adaptation of a video game.
The Bossies is an award show the Boss Rush Network hosts that is a celebration of video games and entertainment. The event is not beholden to announcements and trailers, rather votes come directly from the community.
The award show aims to feature games and entertainment that deserves recognition as the Boss Rush team highlights the best of the year, including content the industry may have overlooked.
Furthermore, the Boss Rush team has partnered many from around the industry who are big fans of gaming and entertainment. These include Indie developers, game publishers, and content creators.
The 2024 Bossies nominations for Best Media Adaptation are:
Arcane — Netflix: This adult animation is set in the League of Legends world and follows sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell). The first season initially aired during 2021 while the second and final season debuted in late 2024.
Fallout — Prime Video: This post-apocalyptic drama is based on the video game franchise of the same name. The show follows Lucy (Ella Purnell) as she leaves Vault 33 into a post-apocalyptic wasteland in search of her father. The show aired in early 2024 with plans for a second season.
Knuckles — Paramount+: Knuckles is a spinoff of the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies and stars Idris Elba in the titular role. The show helps bridge the second and third movies, highlighting Knuckles’ training as an Echidna warrior. It aired in early 2024.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza — Prime Video: This crime action show adapts Sega’s Yakuza series. It follows Kazuma Kiryu (Ryoma Tekuchi) as he returns to a life of crime during a time of conspiracy involving his friend Akira Nishikiyama (Kento Kaku). It aired in late 2024.
Tomb Raider: The Animated Series — Netflix: This animated show follow Lara Croft (Hayley Atwell) after the events of the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy. It acts as a bridge between the reboot trilogy and the original ’90s games. It aired in late 2024.
While voting has closed for the 2024 Bossies, you can still tune in on Thursday, Jan. 16 to see which media adaptation of a video game takes home the award. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. EST with a pre-show while the main event begins at 9 p.m. EST. Catch the event on YouTube.
