The 2024 Bossies, the second annual presentation of the awards, has its nominees for Most Anticipated Game of 2025.

The Bossies is an award show the Boss Rush Network hosts that is a celebration of video games and entertainment. The event is not beholden to announcements and trailers, rather votes come directly from the community.

The award show aims to feature games and entertainment that deserves recognition as the Boss Rush team highlights the best of the year, including content the industry may have overlooked.

Furthermore, the Boss Rush team has partnered many from around the industry who are big fans of gaming and entertainment. These include Indie developers, game publishers, and content creators.

The 2024 Bossies nominations for Most Anticipated Game of 2025 are:

Assassin’s Creed Shadows by Ubisoft: This will be the 14th entry in the long-running Assassin’s Creed series. The game is set in 16th Century Japan as dual protagonists Naoe and Yasuke as they experience the dispute between the Assassin Brotherhood and Templar Order. The game is slated to release on Feb. 14.

Ghost of Yotei by Sucker Punch: This action-adventure game will be the standalone sequel to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima. The game follows Atsu, a warrior who takes on the mantle of “The Ghost,” in Hokkaido, Japan. The game is set in 1603, over 300 years after the first game. It has no official release date other than sometime in 2025.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond by Retro Studios: Not much is known about this upcoming action-adventure other than its title. Nintendo originally announced the game in 2017 but went dark on details until 2024. The game’s release date is only “2025,” making it the first new Metroid Prime since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in 2007.

Monster Hunter Wilds by CAPCOM: This action role-playing game will be the follow-up to 2018’s Monster Hunter Worlds. Players will control a Hunter on their journey to the Forbidden Lands, which is an unpopulated area filled with monsters. They will seek out a missing expedition party. The game has an announced release date of Feb. 28.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition by Monolith Soft: This remaster of the 2015 game of the same name will bring all Xenoblade Chronicles games to the Switch. Players will explore the planet Mira after a crew escapes an alien battle and joins the BLADE unit to protect survivors. The game is slated for a March 20, 2025 release.

While voting has closed for the 2024 Bossies, you can still tune in on Thursday, Jan. 16 to see which highly anticipate 2025 game takes home the award. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. EST with a pre-show while the main event begins at 9 p.m. EST. Catch the event on YouTube.
