Every year, Alien fans celebrate on 4/26, known as Alien Day, a nod to LV-426, the location of the 1986 film Aliens. While 2025’s day of celebration is over, the unofficial holiday has once again given fans plenty to talk about. If you missed any of the major news, we’ve got you covered.
Alien: Earth News
In the days leading up to Alien Day, FX partnered with IGN to release short teaser clips tracking the gestation development of Xenomorphs in species unknown. The fifth and final clip compiled the previous ones and included some interesting details, including hinting at a creature with enormous size, a “new species”. Fans also received a new, separate promotional teaser that provides more information on the direction of the show. The clip shows containers with strange specimens inside; the voice-over narration explains that the company gathered five of deadly alien species from “the darkest corners of the universe,” while an adult Xenomorph appears and stands over the containers, as if to proclaim itself king of the monsters.
Early Look at Upcoming Alien: Novel

Fan Art and More
For years, fans kept the fires burning bright for the Alien franchise, even when the powers-that-be had given up and left the films for dead. Posting fan art, loving tributes, and favorite memories is as core to the tradition as anything. It’s only recently that affiliated corporations began saving product announcements for the holiday. Now fans get to enjoy both.

Marvel Comics also got in on the celebration with the exclusive cover variant reveal for the upcoming issue of Aliens vs. Avengers.
Whatever fans might feel about these kinds of crossovers, Marvel has been outstanding with the art. The battle with Wolverine promises to be epic.
AVP Confirmation?
Okay, so this one wasn’t exactly on Alien Day, instead getting released a few days prior. But the teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands certainly gave fans PLENTY to talk about, dominating much of the conversation on April 26. Among the most intriguing aspects of the trailer is the revelation that Elle Fanning’s character is a Weyland-Yutani synthetic and that the company has equipment on the alien planet.
