Monster Hunter Rise April Update to Add Chameleos, Apex Rathalos

Capcom’s long anticipated Monster Hunter Rise just released this past week on the Nintendo Switch, and already details for the first free update are emerging.

Revealed in a blog post, Capcom stated that the legendary creatures Chameleos and Apex Rathalos will be arriving in “late April.” Along with the new foes to hunt, Capcom claimed that they will be unlocking the “Hunter Rank” cap, as well as other new features.

The monsters Chameleos and Rathalos are icons in the Monster Hunter series of games, with Rathalos taking a special Apex form. Apex monsters, introduced in the newly release Monster Hunter Rise, are overpowered versions of the standard monsters, and are often the final challenge in the tower defense-like Rampage mode.

Additionally, Capcom teased that a new ending to the Monster Hunter Rise story will come in a future free update.
