The News: 

During their E3 presentation, Square Enix showed off more footage for the upcoming Avengers expansion titled “Black Panther War for Wakanda”. In the footage, we see T’Challa suit up in his iconic armor and take his seat on the throne of Wakanda. Square Enix showed that Claw will be the newest villain to Avengers as he fights T’Challa for power over Wakanda. Square Enix has not revealed a release date yet for “Black Panther: War for Wakanda,” only that it will be released this fall. 

Breakdown: 

Square Enix really needs to convince fans to come back to Avengers and the leader of Wakanda might just do the trick. Square Enix has slowly improved Avengers with their updates for Kate Bishop and Clint Barton but the game is still repetitive and makes players grind for resources with repeat missions. I am a little bit shocked that we didn’t see any actual gameplay from “Black Panther: War for Wakanda”. Add to that the fact that we didn’t get a release date and it signals a level of concern. Square Enix has to make this expansion be the thing that brings this game back to life; otherwise, we can kiss any chance of Spider-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy ever coming to this game.
