MLB Power Rankings

Fall is here, and can you believe we are already at the final week of the MLB season? This year has been absolutely nuts with all the drama in the league as we inch closer and closer to the month of October. Next week will be the final MLB Power Rankings on Boss Rush, but for now, let’s get to ranking! 

1. San Francisco Giants

The Giants are proving how good they really are as the season ends. Every time the Dodgers win, and we think they might be able to overtake the Giants, San Francisco wins another game and keeps their lead. I absolutely love the Giants going into October, but at some point, they will play the Dodgers which could prove fatal.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are doing everything right going into the final week of the season, but they just can’t shake the Giants. I do believe that the Dodgers will overtake the Giants and win the division, but when these two teams face each other in the playoffs, it will be epic! 

3. Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays have won just enough games to win the AL East, but this division is a lot closer than I thought it would be. If Noah Syndergaard is 100% healthy in October, the Rays may be able to win the division series, but I don’t think they make it to the World Series.

4. Milwaukee Brewers

I thought the Brewers would win the Central by a landslide, but then the Cardinals started a massive win streak. The Brew Crew should solidify their division endeavors by Tuesday of next week; as far as October is concerned, the Brewers will be a force to be reckoned with. 

5. Houston Astros
6. Boston Red Sox

I have nothing but respect for what Alex Cora and the Boston Red Sox have managed to accomplish over the past month. When we ended August, it looked like hope was lost for the Boston Red Sox. Fast-forward a month, and the Sox control their own destiny for the AL Wildcard. 

7. Chicago White Sox

This week, the White Sox became the first team in baseball to officially win their division. I am not high on the White Sox going into October because their bats can’t seem to find consistency. I think they lack middle relief in the bullpen, and the young talent on the roster is untested. 

8. New York Yankees

Yankee fans are the biggest cry babies in baseball (I am looking at you, Jomboy Media). Last week on Twitter, it looked like someone had taken their candy and left them crying in the street; however, the Yankees have since gone on to win just enough games to stave off the Toronto Blue Jays. 

9. Toronto Blue Jays

I have been saying this for the past month, but it still rings true “next year the Jays are going to be a contender”. There is so much awesome young talent on this team that I am already hyped for the 2022 MLB Season! 

10. Seattle Mariners

As I was prepping this article before sitting down to write it, I kept thinking “is there a way for me to finally get the Mariners in the Top 10”? ABSOLUTELY THERE IS! The Mariners are on the grasp of being really good next year, and similar to the Jays, they have me hyped for the 2022 season. 

11. St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have the potential the wreak havoc on the wildcard picture in the NL. They are 10-0 in their last ten games, and the Cardinals will not stop until they reach October. You have to admire the “never say never” attitude of the Cardinals. Most fans of baseball (myself included) had written the Cards off back in June, but here they are on the cusp of capturing a Wildcard spot.  

12. Oakland Athletics
13. Atlanta Braves

At this point, I am not convinced that the winner of the NL East will be in the top 15 next week in our final MLB Power Rankings. 

14. Cincinnati Reds
15. Philadephia Phillies

For pure drama sake, I hope the Phillies overtake the Braves in the standings. 

16. San Diego Padres
17. Cleveland Indians
18. Detroit Tigers
19. New York Mets
20. Los Angels Angels
21. Colorado Rockies
22. Kansas City Royals

Salvador Perez set a new record for most home runs by a catcher in a single season (46)–nothing but love and respect for Salvy! 

23. Chicago Cubs
24. Minnesota Twins
25. Miami Marlins
26. Texas Rangers
27. Pittsburgh Pirates
28. Washington Nationals
29. Arizona Diamondbacks
30. Baltimore Orioles
