It happened. On Monday, June 27th, at 9 A.M. EST precisely, Nintendo of America Tweeted that there will be a Direct the following day.
Did you read everything? Yes, it is a Direct mini, and they will only be focusing on third-party games. This means Nintendo won’t be discussing IPs like Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, etc (or if so, it would be a treat and surprise). So fans, set your expectations to that appropriate level. With that out of the way, what are your expectations for this Direct Mini?
We haven’t heard too much about the new Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope game since last year, so I am banking on a release date. I would also love to see a release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which originally was shown on the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase, or confirmation if Tunic would make its home on Switch.
This Direct Mini would also be an excellent platform to showcase Hogwart’s Legacy on the Nintendo Switch. Many of us at Boss Rush were excited but honestly surprised that this title included Switch on its list of platforms. Showcasing gameplay on the Switch can reassure gamers that they can take Hogwarts along with them on their commute and enjoy seamless fun.
What else is out there? We could be surprised with new announcements or partnerships. What are you looking out for tomorrow? Please share your thoughts with us on our Boss Rush Facebook Group or our Boss Rush Discord, and check out Nintendo Pow Block as they cover the mini-Direct!
