The Last of Us: Part I Getting PS5 DualSense Functionality

If you’re one of the many out there who are waiting to jump back into the events of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed The Last of Us: Part I when it comes to PlayStation 5, here’s some news that’ll excite you.

The PlayStation Direct website has delivered some details regarding the game’s use of the DualSense controller. When it launches for PS5, gamers will experience The Last of Us: Part I with full utilization of all of the haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support that PlayStation 5 games are able to offer. The features will be felt across both the combat and environmental elements of Ellie’s and Joel’s mission.

The DualSense wireless controller supports haptic feedback for every weapon and environmental effects such as the sensation of falling rain. Players will also feel the dynamic DualSense wireless controller trigger resistance for all of The Last of Us‘ iconic weapons, including Joel’s revolver and Ellie’s bow.

The Last of Us: Part I is scheduled for release on September 2, 2022, for PlayStation 5 with a PC release coming at a later date. The game has been completely overhauled for Sony’s flagship console, complete with improved visuals and enemy AI and reported tweaks to the game’s combat system. A winner of over 200 Game of The Year awards, the original The Last of Us set a new bar for single-player narrative storytelling with a ravaged and hardened world, where every action has a brutal consequence for protagonists Joel and Ellie.
