If you’ve already gotten tired of the original White-on-Black DualSense controller for PlayStation 5, prepare yourself, two new colors are hitting the shelves starting next month!
Via PlayStation.Blog, Isabelle Tomatis (Senior Director, PS VR, eSports, Peripherals Marketing and Licensing, SIE) made the announcement telling the world to “get ready for Midnight Black and Cosmic Red.“
Today, we’re thrilled to introduce two new colors that will be joining the DualSense controller lineup starting next month.
The newly announced Midnight Black DualSense controller is described as featuring “two subtly different shades of black with light grey detailing to reflect how we view space through the night sky,” whereas the Cosmic Red DualSense controller has been “inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos.” Both of the controllers feature “a subtle blue hue, that produces unique shades of red and black,” says Satoshi Aoyogi, one of the members of the design team for the DualSense controllers. “A blue hue is also present in the original DualSense wireless controller colors, so all three colors complement each other nicely. The controller’s button colors and detailing has been tailored to complement the new colors as well.“
If you’d like to get yourself one or both of the new DualSense controllers, pre-orders are open now on Sony’s PlayStation Direct website. The Midnight Black DualSense is priced at $69.99 (USD), while the Cosmic Red DualSense is $74.99 (USD). Both controllers are set to release on June 11.
