Just announced at The Game Awards 2022: Among Us will receive a new mod on December 9 entitled “Hide N Seek!”
“Hide N Seek” in the game isn’t something new; it’s a mode many have seen done even while playing in mobile lobbies. With one Imposter whose vision is limited, the Imposter goes on a killing spree to finish off the crew before their tasks are finished.
Previously, lobby settings were adjusted in order to accomplish this mode. Sometimes, a few other ground rules would be set amongst the players to play hide n seek such as not reporting any bodies or immediately sabotaging communications to make finding tasks harder to up the level of difficulty.
It’s a fun game mode and definitely a nice change of pace from the usual accusations and big-braining Among Us usually is.
The trailer for this new mod included several new features to make “Hide N Seek” more immersive. The Imposter has a clear and obvious monster skin to make them more distinguishable from the crew, and the emergency meeting button has been completely demolished.
Alongside these new features, both the crew and the Imposter have new features to aid them. The Imposter has “SEEK” next to their “KILL” button that hints at where Crewmates are for a brief moment. They also seem to have a counter, keeping track of how many crew mates they have killed.
The Crew has “HIDE” next to “USE” replacing “REPORT” that includes a number beside it, presumably meaning the Crew have a limited number of times they can actually hide away on the map. There also appears to be a meter for Crewmates that appears when the Imposter comes near, tracking how close the Imposter is. We also see a brief flash of the “HIDE” skill changing to “HAUNT” when a Crewmate is killed.
We’re very excited to see what this new mod will bring to the game and how the game will further develop.
