Open-world survival game V Rising has achieved over 3 million sales, according to Swedish game developer Stunlock Studios.
Released in May of 2022, the game was a surprise hit that dominated the Steam charts for much of the summer. While it has undergone numerous updates since launching as part of Steam’s Early Access program, there is no indication as of yet when the game will go gold.
CEO of Stunlock Studios, Rickard Frisegård writes about the milestone:

Their feedback and engagement has been invaluable, providing us with everything we need to continue improving and making sure we deliver on the expectations for our upcoming expansion of the game. The game allows players to create their own vampire, and sets them loose into a world where they must scavenge, craft, and hunt to survive. Gamers can join a server with other live players to compete for territory and materials, or terrorize the world as a lone bloodsucker.
Early praise was aimed towards the various abilities that one can learn, exciting boss battles that can be fought, and the amount of detail one can put into building their intricate castles. Some criticisms towards the tedious crafting and gathering processes, however.
