More details about the Babylon 5 animated film have been released.
As reported previously, original series creator, J. Michael Straczynski will write and executive produce this film. This project is separate from the live-action reboot announced last year (also helmed by Straczynski).
The title is confirmed as Babylon 5: The Road Home.
Travel across the galaxy with John Sheridan as he unexpectedly finds himself transported through multiple timelines and alternate realities in a quest to find his way back home. Along the way he reunites with some familiar faces, while discovering cosmic new revelations about the history, purpose, and meaning of the Universe.
Babylon 5: The Road Home Description
Bruce Boxleitner was previously confirmed to return as John Sheridan. Fellow original castmembers Claudia Christian as Susan Ivanova, Peter Jurasik as Londo Mollari, Bill Mumy as Lennier, Tracy Scoggins as Elizabeth Lochley, and Patricia Tallman as Lyta Alexander will join him.
Unfortunately, many members of the original cast have passed since the production of the original series. Paul Guyet will play Zathras and Jeffery Sinclair, Anthony Hansen will play Michael Garibaldi, Phil LaMarr will play Dr. Stephen Franklin, Andrew Morgado will play G’Kar, and Rebecca Riedy will play Delenn. Additional parts include Piotr Michael as David Sheridan and Mara Junot as Reporter and Computer Voice.
The film will feature direction from Matt Peters, best known for directing a number of the DC Comics animated films including DC Showcase: Constantine – The House of Mystery and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. Rick Morales is supervising producer. Sam Register is an executive producer on the project.
Babylon 5: The Road Home is expected to release this summer.
