Disney+ Announces ‘Ahsoka’ Premiere Date with Trailer

Disney+ has arranged a date with Ahsoka. The Star Wars series, starring Rosario Dawson, will premiere on August 23.

Ahsoka was created by Dave Filoni, the Star Wars creator who went on to collaborate with Jon Favreau on The Mandalorian, where she was first featured in live-action.

“Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy,” according to the show’s official synopsis. Ahsoka originally featured in the Clone Wars film in 2008, and she later starred in the Clone Wars animated series. She also appears in the second season of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, both of which featured Dawson in the role.

The series also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ray Stevenson, who died on May 21, plays Baylan Skoll in one of his final performances in the series.

I wasn’t a fan of Andor. The show had some great moments, but the pacing was sometimes slow. As a fan of Star War Rebels, I have high expectations of the tone the series will bring that Andor lacked. Hopefully, there will be some justice for Sabine and Ezra, as well.
