Overhype Studios, the developers of the tactical strategy game Battle Brothers, are expanding into the far future with their new game, Menace. It is expected to release in 2024. The game will be published by Hooded Horse, who have carved a name for themselves in the strategy space with well-received games like Old World, Terra Invicta, and Against the Storm, among others.
Like Battle Brothers, Menace is a turn-based tactical RPG which puts you in command of a mercenary company. However, their latest games eschews the lovely board game-like 2D art for a gritty, 3D world with a painterly, high contrast world.
The technology of Menace echoes that of Boss Rush Network favorite franchise Alien: CRT, and interfaces straight from the 1980s, dominate the space future.
The developer promises that you will be in charge of which missions to take, and which factions to court; that characters offer in-depth traits that meaningfully impact their role in your squad; and that the battles offer deep, interesting tactical gameplay with a variety of approach.
