As we wind down summer, Nintendo announced a September gaming update which adds new titles to Nintendo Switch Online. This update includes games from several platforms–most of which have previously been released in Japan only…until now.
The following titles are now live for Nintendo Switch Online members:
Nintendo Entertainment System (NES):
- Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day!
- Joy Mech Fight
Joy Mech Fight is a 2D fighting game consisting of robots with floating limbs. It was released for the Famicom only in Japan until now. Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day! is actually a sequel and released in 1990 for the Famicom. It’s described as an action sports game, and could be played multi-player. Challenges include the Obstacle Course and Cross Country. This also will be its first debut in the West.
Super Nintendo:
- Kirby’s Star Stacker
This title first released on the Super Famicom in 1998. It has appeared in a virtual console for the Wii, WiiU, and the Nintendo 3DS–but only in Japan. As you can gather from the title, it is very Tetris-like in style.
Game Boy/Game Boy Color:
- Quest for Camelot
Last but not least, we have the 1998 action RPG from Titus Interactive, Quest for Camelot. It is based off an animated movie from Warner Bros.
