Direct News: Nintendo Finally Includes F-Zero on the Switch

The September 14th, 2023 Nintendo Direct was chock-full of remakes and ports. While mostly Mario in nature, Nintendo finally tossed F-Zero fans a bone.

Introducing F-Zero 99. Following in the steps of Tetris 99 and the like, gamers can race online on original SNES F-Zero courses. Features include the Boost Meter which decreases when you hit others or rails, Super Sparks which unlock the Skyway to bypass others, and unlockable cosmetics.

F-Zero 99 will be a Nintendo Switch Online exclusive, and it’s available today. Also, Nintendo did confirm that this is compatible with the wireless SNES controller.
