Back in the 1980s, fantasy had a strong emphasis on creature design: beasties, weirdos, and monsters drawing from and iterating on 100 years of fantasy literature, film, and art. Exaggerated, sometimes extreme, this era of design emphasized personality and the clear, signature hand of the artist behind the work. Satyr Art Studio works in this tradition of model sculpt, making figures that exhale personality and the art’s signature.
These beaky bad guys from Satyr Art Studio would feel equally as home in classic Warhammer as in one of Jim Henson’s dark fantasy projects.
The designs are by Drew Day Williams, who has designed miniatures you may be familiar with for everything from major corporations (Games Workshop and WizKids) through to boutique publishers.
The models can be purchased from Satyr Art Studio. The Fomorians are currently available at a 10% discount to celebrate their release, which can be stacked with a discount available to the studio’s Patreon backers.
