Reflections from Grubb
I had a chance to chat with Grubb about the significance of this fourth album release. Some excerpts from that conversation are below.
Lasby: “What makes this album unique or different from the first three volumes?”
Grubb: “I feel like every album I’ve released has been better than the last, so after four years of officially producing music, this is my best. I’ve always done the songs my own way and often write in my own original sections when the song is too short or repetitive, but I think, with this album, I’ve taken it to a new level.”
Lasby: “Releasing your fourth Zelda collection volume is quite the accomplishment. How do you feel about this milestone?”
Grubb: “I’m both proud of finishing my fourth album and relieved that it’s finally finished. I do plan to release more Zelda covers, but right now I feel like I can rest for a bit.”
Lasby: “Did you ever think you’d focus so much on Zelda and see this kind of success?”
Grubb: “When I started out making Zelda covers, I was quite uncertain to where it would take me. I never imagined I would gain the following and notoriety that I have now. My mind is blown every time I look at the number of people listening every day and try to imagine what that large of a group would look like in person.”
Lasby: “Which song on the album are you most proud of?”
Grubb: “It’s hard to choose which song I like best, but I think it would have to be “Serenade of Water.” It has the most cinematic sound of them all coupled with the best transitions as well as my favorite original additions.”
