Today, Honkai: Star Rail streamed their 2.2 update that releases the final part of the main story in Penacony before the epilogue comes in 2.3.

New Areas and Enemies
With this update, there are new playable areas releasing like the Grand Theater which includes new mob enemies and bosses. The Septimus will be available to battle as a new Echo of War following the trailblazer quest. To learn about the boss’s attack patterns and features, players can check out the livestream for more details.
New Characters and Banners
The livestream introduced two new five-star characters.
First is Robin, a Physical character who follows the path of Harmony. Her technique creates an area of field around her that makes enemies follow after her character without attacking, meaning they won’t initiate battle. When she initiates combat with this dimension activated, her Talent generates extra energy for Robin when allies attack enemies.
Her Skill increases all of her allies’ total damage. Robin’s Ultimate causes her team to enter a performative state. In this state, all allies can immediately take action. With each ally’s attack, Robin stacks up the ally’s additional damage dealt. While in this state, Robin is immune to crowd-control debuffs.
The other five-star character introduced is Boothill. Boothill is a five-star Physical character as well who follows the path of the Hunt. His technique inflicts physical weakness on the enemy who is first targeted by his Skill. This is important because his Skill engages Boothill into a duel with that marked enemy. This mark increases the damage taken by both Boothill and the enemy while also increasing Boothill’s Basic Attack damage.
Boothill’s Talent is reliant on his duels. Everytime he breaks the weakness of the marked enemy or defeats them, he gains a stackable bonus. Lastly, his Ultimate inflicts Physical weakness onto the enemy, deals a Physical attack, and delay’s that enemy’s action.
In the character banner, Robin will be run alongside Topaz with the four-star characters March, Xueyi, and Hanya. Boothill will be run alongside Fu Xuan with the four-star characters Pela, Luke, and Hook.
Of course, as with every update, Honkai: Star Rail is offering the 10 Warp Ticket check in through the Gift of Odyssey event.
Tool Updates
There are several tool updates in 2.2 to make the game more optimized for players. Players will be able to see a real-time battle history for their accounts.
In Forgotten Hall, players can see their friend’s line ups in completing stages. Players can post their own lineups as well to help other players in figuring out how to complete Forgotten Hall.
The Online status of friends will be updated as well, giving further detail on what friends are doing such as completing the Simulated Universe or going through Forgotten Hall.
Additional Fun Events
Robin is releasing an album May 9 which includes three songs: “If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking,” “Sway to My Beat in Cosmos,” and “Hope is the Thing with Feathers.” A fourth, secret song can be unlocked in the 2.3 update. More information will be released as the day draws near. A short demo of each song is available in the livestream.
The digital copy of The Ultimate Trailblazers Guide to Penacony will be available with the release of 2.2. This guide will include behind-the-scenes stories of the development team creating the nation of Penacony. It also includes inclusive interviews with the animated shorts team as well as artwork and flashes for the animation, Ichor of Two Dragons.
