With the reappearance of Baizhu’s banner, many players will wonder whether or not he is worth the wishes. Baizhu is a five-star Dendro character from the nation of Liyue. Introduced well before he became a playable character, Baizhu was hyped up for years. Once he arrived, many players were disappointed by his kit. This was because many players don’t pull for healer characters, despite the necessity of them in-game.
Baizhu’s kit focuses on healing, which is increased by his HP. Most healers have similar kits, but what makes Baizhu different is that his skill heals the entire party instead of just one person. That means that you won’t have to switch the character that needs healing and risk them dying due to being on field. While his skill does have a long cooldown, his first constellation adds another charge. This somewhat negates the concern of the long cooldown. If built right, Baizhu can hit high healing numbers in a single skill usage.
Additionally, his burst creates a shield that heals the character whenever the shield regenerates or shatters. The shield regenerates every 2.5 seconds, with up to six shields able to be regenerated. On top of that, his shield can attack enemies. This attack causes the enemy to be inflicted with Dendro. Dendro is a very powerful element and, with the right team, allows for the player to cause major damage to opponents.
Baizhu is helpful outside of combat as well. His passive talent allows for players to heal upon picking any harvestable item. While this may not seem helpful at first, it can be used in Fontaine. The underwater areas of Fontaine does not allow players to use their characters skills, which means that any healing a character would normally do with their skill is not possible anymore. As this is a passive talent, Baizhu is able to heal characters underwater regardless of the use of his skill or not. The ability to heal underwater is otherwise limited to the Recovery Orbs.
Of course, players can (and should) pull for whatever character they want. If players like a character, they should use their wishes to get them or continue saving up for other characters. For me, I already have Baizhu and plan to get his first constellation on his banner.
