Five Games You Don’t Want to Miss Out on During the Steam Summer Sale

The highly anticipated Steam Summer Sale is in full swing and if you’re like me, you’re scoping out what bargains are the best. What hidden gems are on such a good sale you can’t resist adding it to your library?

The Steam Summer Sale runs until July 11, 2024 at 10am PST.

If you’re like me, you throw games into your Wishlist in hopes that during one of the quarterly sales, it may go to a good discount. And the sale is good for those.

Taking some advice from members of the team and combing over my own wishlist, I’ve prepared some game you may want to look at.

  1. Prodigal

Normal Price: $14.99

Sale Price: $1.49 (90% off)

This recommendation comes from James. He describes by saying it takes the Oracle Zelda games as a starting place and runs from there. It has deep secrets alongside an incredible cast of characters in a living town.

At 90% off, this is the lowest price that the game has been seen at in the couple of years since its release. If you love Zelda games and are looking for something to hold you over, think about supporting this indie project!

2. Chroma Squad

Normal Price: $14.99

Sale Price: $3.74 (75% off)

This is one I’ve been eyeing for a bit. It is inspired off of the original Power Rangers. A group of retired stunt actors start a television studio. You help them create the studio, cast actors, run things, but then…

You battle real monsters?

For this price, I’m going to be adding this to my library to check out. I loved the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a kid and this just sounds like a delightful time.

3. Monster Hunter World

Normal Price: $29.99

Sale Price: $9.89 (67%)

After years of friends trying to introduce me to Monster Hunter, I finally snagged both this and Rise during the Steam Winter Sale last year. I’ve been working my way through Monster Hunter World over the last few months and have come to love the story.

The artwork is beautiful, combat is something that I can handle (there are a lot of weapons to choose from and I’ve been experimenting to find what’s best for me), and the story is compelling.

I also want to add on this one, look at the DLC packages. I listed the prices for the base game only but those are on sale as well. It’s worth looking into if you’re considering the game.

4. Hitman: World of Assassination: Part One

Normal Price: $29.99

Sale Price: $2.99 (90% off)

This is a game I’ve been eying for a bit. Actually, the franchise as a whole is something I’ve eyed. For years, I didn’t have a computer that could handle the graphics and gameplay of the series.

Essentially, you are carrying a hit. You are given your target and an extraction point. Beyond that, what you do and how you do it is up to you.

Keep in mind, the $2.99 only covers the equivalent of the original Hitman revival. Getting access to the story and levels from the second and third games, however, requires further investment via DLC.

For this price, I might finally let myself get it – I have a computer that can handle it now.

5. Planet Zoo

Normal Price: $44.99

Sale Price: $15.75 (65% off)

Speaking of games I couldn’t play before.

I LOVE this game. I love the graphics. I love the conservation message, I love the DLCs, I love everything about it. This is a game that writing this article has inspired me to enjoy my new PC and play to its fullest now that I can.

You are building a zoo. You can free form and there are tutorial zoos as well to help you learn the mechanics of the game.

I have fought two computers that didn’t want to play this game to spend some time here. And now I can time sink to my hearts content.

Added bonus is that the DLCs are all half off. I have most of them and add at least one or two most major Steam sale.

There are hundreds of games on sale during this sale and these are just five. Take some time and look. Grab your Wishlist and sort it by discount to see what gems are hiding there for a great deal.

What are you playing? What are you snagging? Please share your thoughts with us on our Boss Rush Facebook Group or our Boss Rush Discord. We do have a small discussion going about this. We’d love to hear your recommendations as well.
