A lot of news regarding Alien: Rogue Incursion came out of this past weekend’s event at San Diego Comic Con. Fans were treated to a brand new trailer with some HUGE reveals. Chief among these are the details that Zula Hendricks and synthetic Davis are the main characters of the game, and that celebrated author Alex White (Alien: The Cold Forge, Alien: Into Charybdis) has written the story.
Many have wondered if launching an Alien game in the medium of virtual reality is a poor decision that risks watering down the brand and increasing the chance that fans see fewer games in the future. Others have argued that VR is the perfect medium for an Alien game and that the franchise is ideal for such an immersive experience.
Regardless of where fans stand in this debate, the news that Alex White has written the story should inspire immense confidence. White’s two novels in the Alien expanded universe are widely recognized as the best novels in the franchise. With White involved in Alien: Rogue Incursion, that’s a significant sign that Survios is committed to master storytelling and excellent craftsmanship with this game.
Add to that the news that Alien: Rogue Incursion will feature a fan-favorite character in Zula Hendricks, and it’s possible this game can be truly special.
