Xenofauna’s MANSECT! is a love letter to a certain era of indie film, made on a tiny Super 8 camera with practical, in-camera effects. Directed by Jared P. Foust, the film embodies a low-fi middle ground between The Fly (1958) and The Fly (1986).
MANSECT! stars Gabrielle Loren and Kevin Meaux, with SFX make-up by Shane Morton.
MANSECT! is Xenofauna’s very first, complete super 8mm short film created using entirely in-camera special effects. It was composed from a single roll of Kodak Tri-X 7266, shot on a Nikon R8 super 8 camera. MANSECT! was devised as a film within a film for a different project you will see at some point in the future but that’s a little way off, so we decided to share MANSECT! with you now. We hope you enjoy!
