Sony hosted a September State of Play that ran around 30 minutes and featured over twenty PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 titles. Many PlayStation fans watched with bated breath to see what Sony had to offer…especially after the recent announcement of the $700 PlayStation 5 Pro. Out of the entire lineup, which title are you looking forward to the most?
The Sony State of Play showcased a mixed of brand new and already existing video game announcements. Team Asobi kicked it off with free Astrobot DLC that drops later this fall. The showcase also provided additional content and information on titles we know are coming, such as Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Monster Hunter Wilds, and LEGO Horizon Adventures.
They also hyped up the Pro as well as shared the new Chroma collection, three new colors to add to your collection: Indigo Blue, Pearl White, or Teal. Of course, this only scratches the surface of announcements.
For me, the titles I am most hyped about are a tie between the Alan Wake 2 DLC: The Lake House and Ghost of Yotei, the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima sequel.
Alan Wake fans such as myself know the 2nd DLC is coming, but the trailer and a release window of October is turning this dream into reality…and the month of October is only days away. The spine-tingling trailer leaves me wanting for more, and I’m grateful that I won’t have to wait long.
Despite some of the backlash of a female protagonist, I feel that many agree what Ghost of Yotei was one of the biggest announcements from the Sony State of Play. The trailer was gorgeous, cinematic, and oozing with dramatics. Ghost of Tsushima will forever be on my top ten video games of all time, and I am grateful that Sucker Punch plans to deliver this sequel next year!
