I am still in the early stages of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom; however, I have discovered too many Echoes to keep track of already. So, in this three-part Boss Rush Banter, I ask what are our favorite Echoes?
What makes for a “good” Echo anyway? Well, there are various functions they may serve such as traversal, protection, and puzzle-solving. For example, the Strandtula is an enemy, but its Echo serves excellently for puzzle-solving and traversal. The Ignizol is simple yet unlocks any torch-related puzzle. Here are a few of my personal favorites early on in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom:
[Note: My list is not in any particular order]
The (Soft) Bed
At first, it’s a running joke. When trailers first dropped for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, many pointed out how often the bed Echo was shown off. Why was Nintendo so fixated on a bed? Sure, the basic bed was one of the first Echoes, but it was a little comedic to say the least; however, the (soft) bed is one of the Echoes I use to most in the early stages of the game. Not only does it have the added height, but it has length to bridge gaps. Lacking hearts? Oh, just lay down and take a nap ANYWHERE. So, as basic as it is, the Soft Bed is a keeper.

The Wind Cannon
Discovered in the Gerudo area, the Wind Cannon has proven useful. It does exactly what it says sounds like, and you can use it to propel enemies or blow away sand. It’s quite fun!

The Trampoline
I also have to hand it to the Trampoline. There are several Echoes that you can climb onto such as tables, beds, and crates; however, the trampoline provides that extra boost that made traversing easier for me.

The Tornado
From an enemies standpoint, I have found the Tornado useful. This little guy reminds me a lot of The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker‘s Cyclos and Zephos. Because you don’t gain any experience point after defeating enemies, battling can become redundant without the traditional sword and shield. Once I collect an enemy’s Echo, I find it much more convenience to unleash Mr. Tornado here and knock them out of my way!

Darknut
The Darknut is a brutish enemy that I can rely on, although it requires three of Tri’s powers. If I need help tackling a serious enemy, the Darknut has the offense and defense to get the job done. It is a slower enemy, but as long as you plan strategically, it can be a life saver.

What are some Echoes that you rely on the most? Which are the most useful and which are just plain ol’ fun? Please share your thoughts with us on our Boss Rush Facebook Group or our Boss Rush Discord.
